What Should I Choose For Brewery Controller, Digital Brewery Controller or PLC Touch Screen Brewery Controller?
The control cabinet/control panel is quite important for the beer brewery system.
It controls brewhouse brewing and fermentation temp in unitanks.
In Brewman, the brewery controller is designed to brewhouse controller and fermentation controller.
The brewhouse controller is often hang on the platform of brewhouse,
while the fermentation controller can hang on the wall or make a support for the fermentation controller.
So how does the control cabinet works?
For brewhouse controller, we often set the mash temp and boil temp on it.
Take step mashing for example, there are five stages,
35-37 Celsuis for feeding malt to get dissolved more enzyme
50-55 Celsuis for malt proteolysis
60-65 Celsuis for β-amylase reaction to get fermentation suger
72-75 Celsuis for α-amylase reaction
Then rise to 78-80 celsuis for lautering. 78 clesuis is the best temperature for lautering.
If your malt is good dissolved, you can save the first step and feed malt at 50-55 Celsuis
At second stage, we will set the temp as 50 Celsuis, as the heat will have a buffer.
Once the temp is lower than 50 Celsuis, the brewhouse controller will send
signal to heat device and heat mash tun until 50 Celsuis.
For fermentation controller,it controls the temp of fermentation tank and brite tank.
Let’s take fermentation tank as an example, we set up the fermenting temperature at 10 ℃.
If the actual temperature in the unitanks is higher than 10℃, the fermentation controller
will give signal to cooling system, it will start cooling automatically.
When the temperature lowered to 10 ℃, the cooling system will stop cooling automatically.
Considering the HIM design, the brewery controller can also divide to digital type and PLC touch screen type.
Digital type controller is easy to operation while PLC touch screen is more automatic.
PLC touch screen can store the recipe and estimate the temperature trend.
After designing, it can also achieve remote control on PC and phone.
The controller shell also have stainless steel controller, Rittal brand controller with UL certificate
and normal CE certificated painting controller for option.
